She is one of the most important exponents of contemporary Latin American photography. Her work has been exhibited in various cultural institutions, such as: Museo de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, Casa de las Américas de la Habana, Museo Alejandro Otero in Caracas, TATE Liverpool in United Kingdom, etc. She has performed multiple solo as well as collective exhibitions in galleries and museums around the world. Her work forms part of important private and institutional collections.
The use of her body as a fundamental tool of work is the most direct way of representing human feelings such as fragility, fears and experiences, the precariousness of existence as well as others that are present in her work.
