PATRICIA CASTILLO (PATUTUS)
Patricia Castillo (Patutus) lives and works in the Dominican Republic. She studied Fine Arts and Illustration in the Altos de Chavón School of Design. In the year 2000, she received the Charles Bluhdorn Scholarship and moved to Bogotá, Colombia to study Fine Arts at the Federico Chopin School.
Between 2001 and 2016, Patricia Castillo, exhibited her work individually in important Dominican art spaces such as Casa de Teatro, Centro Cultural de España Santo Domingo and the Museo de Arte Moderno; where she exhibited "Gravitar Rotando" (2016). Also, her work was exhibited, together with other great artists, in important national and international collective exhibitions. For instance, in 2015 she presented her work at the exhibition "All Inclusive" in Berlin, Germany, in 2009 and 2007 she participated in the 27 Biennial of Visual Arts at the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo, she also participated in the "Concurso Eduardo León Jimenes" in 2002, 2004 and 2008. Back in 2013 she received the "27 Biennial National Prize" at the Museo de Arte Moderno in Santo Domingo. Finally, in the year 2017 she did an artistic residency in Berlin, Germany as part of the Davidoff Art Initiative program.
